Vegetable Biryani

Preparation Time: 25 Minutes | Cooking Time: 25 Minutes | Serves: 4


500g Basmati rice cooked

150g carrot, cubed

100g cauliflower florets

150g potato, cubed

100g beans cut in to 1-inch pieces

150g bell pepper of your choice

1 cup green peas

1 cup curd

1 packet Knorr Biryani Mix

150g onions, sliced

150g tomatoes, sliced

1 teaspoon garlic

1-2 green chilies, sliced


Curry leaves


1 tablespoon chili powder

20g Margarine

A handful of mint leaves

100g fried onion to garnish

200ml water to cook

½ teaspoon salt


1. In a pot add Margarine and ghee. The add ginger, garlic, green chili, rampe and curry leaves. Sauté till fragrant. Add onion and tomatoes and sauté for a few more minutes. Then add all the vegetables and sauté for 1 minute.

2. Add Knorr Biryani Mix, chili powder and curd. Add water and cook till vegetables are done. Add mint leaves and fried onion. Mix well.

3. In a casserole dish or in a rice cooker add a portion of the cooked rice as a layer and on top add the vegetable mixture. Continue till all the rice and vegetables are layered. Cover with lid and let it stand in the ‘warm’ stage. Serve hot.

Chef's Tip

Add cashew nuts for more flavor.
