Masala Dhal Curry

Recipe serves:6-7 | Preparation Time 10 Minutes | Cooking Time15 Minutes


100g dhal

1 Knorr Seasoning Cube

50g onions, thinly sliced

50g tomatoes, chopped

1 tablespoon Butter

1 tablespoon turmeric

1 ½ tablespoons, chili powder

3 cloves garlic

1 teaspoon raw curry powder

2 cups coconut milk

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1. Wash dhal well and add to a pot with 1 teaspoon of turmeric and 1 teaspoon of chili powder and sufficient water to boil it in. When the water has evaporated, add the Knorr Chicken Cube and stir well to dilute.

2. In a separate pan, melt the Astra. Add the cumin seeds and fry till fragrant. Then, add the onions and tomato and sauté till the oil separates.

3. Add the remaining ingredients into this mixture and bring to boil. Then add the cooked dhal, stir well and serve hot.

Chef's Tip

Make sure you do not boil the dhal in too much water, so as to retain texture of the grain.
